Juan is a producer at NBC Universal, as well as an independent film director, editor, cinematographer, and photographer based in NYC. His body of work is influenced by his personal experiences as a visual artist and immigrant. Originally from Ipiales, a city located in the Andean highlands in southern Colombia, Juan holds an MA in Media Studies. He has worked as a freelancer for various production companies and brands, including The Root, Jezebel, Deadspin, Dakoit Pictures, ID Studio Theater, and more. Juan has also collaborated on numerous independent short films, documentaries, experimental projects, and social media content. His previous film, Un Espectador, premiered at NSP Latine ShortsFest at Quad Cinema in New York City and has won multiple awards, including Best Thriller Short Film at the Indie Short Fest Film Festival.
