Juan is a producer at NBCUniversal and an independent film director, editor, cinematographer, and photographer based in New York City. His work is shaped by his experiences as a visual artist and immigrant, often exploring identity and perspective through a cinematic lens.

Originally from Ipiales, a city in the Andean highlands of southern Colombia, Juan holds an MA in Media Studies. His film Un Espectador ( A Spectator) premiered at NSP Latine ShortsFest at Quad Cinema and received multiple awards, including Best Thriller Short Film at the Indie Short Fest.

In addition to his independent work, Juan contributed to the production of the short documentary special The Effect: Bad Bunny for LXTV Productions, part of NBCUniversal Local, now streaming on Peacock.

He has also worked as a freelancer for various production companies and brands, including The Root, Jezebel, Deadspin, Dakoit Pictures, ID Studio Theater, among others.

He is currently in post-production on his next film, Hurgar La Herida (Twist the Knife)
